Butter, specifically butter made from raw cream fr Butter, specifically butter made from raw cream from grass-fed cows, is 100% the better option over seed oils!

Raw butter:

✅ fat-soluble vitamins
✅ protection from degenerative arthritis, calcification of the joints, hardening of the arteries, and cataracts
✅ helps the body absorb and utilize minerals
✅ arachidonic acid (AA) helps the function of the brain
✅ fatty acids with antimicrobial, antitumor, and immune system supporting properties
✅ balanced omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids
✅ CLA- anticancer properties
✅ lecithin assists in the assimilation and metabolism of cholesterol
✅ cholesterol is essential for growth and development
✅ glycosphingolipids protect against gastrointestinal infections
✅ trace minerals, including manganese, zinc, chromium, iodine, and selenium

Seed oil production:

🚫 late 1800s- cottonseed oil was consigned to the status of “toxic waste” until Procter & Gamble realized that unwanted cottonseed oil could be used to produce soap. Another plus that appealed to them: the oil could be chemically altered via a process called “hydrogenation” to turn it into a solid cooking fat that resembled lard.
🚫 low cost plus strategic marketing on the part of the oil manufacturers, made seed oils popular in America even though their use was unprecedented in human history
🚫 the process used to create industrial seed oils is anything but natural- the oils must be refined, bleached, and deodorized before they are suitable for human consumption
🚫 late 1940s- a small group of cardiologists who were members of the new American Heart Association (AHA) received a $1.5 million donation from Procter & Gamble

Seed oils:

🚫 a 2014 meta-analysis found no benefit to overall health from reducing saturated fats or increasing PUFAs from seed oils
🚫 consumption of seed oils represents an evolutionary mismatch
🚫 seed oils raise omega-6-to-omega-3 fatty acid ratios
🚫 seed oils are highly unstable and oxidize easily
🚫 harmful additives
🚫 derived from genetically modified crops
🚫 when seed oils are repeatedly heated, even more toxic byproducts are created

It's worth looking into.

Super simple process to make at home.

1. purchase high quality raw milk
2. skim cream from top of raw milk
3. use one of 9 methods to turn the cream into whipped cream and then butter (see blog post for an explanation of each method)
4. strain buttermilk from the butter
5. wash the butter in cold water
6. add salt to taste (optional)
7. store in a butter crock or other enclosed container
8. ENJOY 😋
